On a night to remember at Wembley Stadium, Oleksandr Usyk produced a masterclass in boxing, stopping Britain’s Daniel Dubois in the fifth round to once again claim the title of undisputed heavyweight champion.

The Ukrainian fighter, known for his slick southpaw style, set the pace from the opening bell, using nimble footwork and precise punches to control the ring. As the rounds progressed, Usyk systematically broke down his opponent. In the fifth, a punishing right hand followed by a looping left hook dropped Dubois. Although Dubois tried to recover, another clean left forced the referee to wave off the bout at 1:52.

This emphatic win sees Usyk (age 38, record 24‑0) reunite all four major championship belts – WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO – making him a two-time undisputed king in the modern era of heavyweight boxing. The victory also served as redemption, reclaiming the IBF belt he had previously lost and solidifying his legacy.

A crowd of 90,000 spectators filled Wembley with energy, erupting as Usyk entered the ring draped in the Ukrainian flag. His win, emotionally charged, was dedicated to his war-torn homeland – symbolizing both athletic excellence and national perseverance.

Ukraine’s top leaders, including President Volodymyr Zelenski, publicly celebrated the victory. Zelenski lauded Usyk as a “fighter with Ukraine in his soul,” calling the performance a source of courage and hope for the country.

In his post-fight remarks, Usyk expressed gratitude to his corner team, his family, and his supporters around the globe. Referring to himself as “still a young man” at 38, he teased the possibility of future marquee bouts – potentially a rematch with Tyson Fury or high-stakes matchups against the likes of Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora, or Joseph Parker.
