The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 concluded with a dazzling final in Basel, Switzerland, where Austria clinched victory with JJ’s powerful ballad “Wasted Love.” This emotionally charged performance captivated both the jury and public voters across Europe, earning Austria its third win in the competition’s history.
While Austria took the crown, the Baltic states made a strong impression on the international stage, each showcasing unique musical identities and cultural pride.
Estonia: Tommy Cash – “Espresso Macchiato”
Estonia delivered one of the most talked-about performances of the night with Tommy Cash’s experimental and genre-defying “Espresso Macchiato.” Blending English and Italian lyrics with a satirical flair, Tommy’s unconventional style and visually arresting stage show propelled Estonia to an impressive 3rd place finish with 356 points—the country’s best result in over a decade.
Latvia: Tautumeitas – “Bur man laimi”
Latvia was represented by the ethno-pop group Tautumeitas, winners of the national selection Supernova 2025. Their entry, “Bur man laimi” (“Conjure Me Luck”), blended traditional Latvian folk harmonies with modern pop elements. The haunting yet uplifting song resonated with both juries and viewers, leading Latvia to a commendable 13th place with 158 points.
Lithuania: Katarsis – “Tavo Akys”
Lithuania’s national final, Eurovizija.LT, crowned the melancholic pop band Katarsis as this year’s representatives. Their song “Tavo Akys” (“Your Eyes”) combined introspective lyrics with a cinematic sound. Although the competition was fierce, Lithuania secured 16th place with 96 points, further solidifying their growing presence in the contest.
As Eurovision continues to be a platform for cultural expression and musical diversity, the Baltic nations proved once again that their voices are powerful, distinct, and worthy of the global spotlight.
