A new survey conducted by the Luminor Bank finds that nearly one-quarter of people aged 18-29 in Latvia have their own residence.
Young people most often rent (34%) or live in a home that is owned by their parents or other relatives (32%). 19% of people aged 30-39 also rent, while 19% live with their parents.
The survey also shows that the vast majority of people in Latvia (84%) live in a home which is owned by them, their spouse or their parents. 15% rent their home.
The Luminor Bank survey was conducted last September together with the Norstat research agency. 1,004 respondents were contacted in Latvia, 1,000 in Lithuania and 1,012 in Estonia.
