Technology and innovation company Tet’s new DC7 data centre in Salaspils has received the international Uptime Institute Tier III Facility certification, confirming that the completed data centre infrastructure meets the high Tier III requirements for security and operational continuity. Tet is the only data centre operator in Latvia whose two data centres — Dattum and the new DC7 — have been awarded both Tier III Design and Tier III Facility certifications.
The official opening of Tet’s new DC7 data centre will take place on 9 September 2026 at 9:00 in Salaspils — exactly one year after the data centre’s topping-out ceremony.
The previously received Tier III Design certification confirms that the first phase of the DC7 project meets high requirements for security, availability and operational continuity. The Facility certification, in turn, confirms that these requirements have also been implemented in practice — the data centre has been built in accordance with the design, and its operations have been inspected on site by independent auditors from Uptime Institute, one of the world’s leading data centre certification bodies.

With DC7 now certified, Tet is the only data centre operator in Latvia with two data centres that have received both Tier III certifications. This gives our customers the opportunity to place critical data and infrastructure in two geographically separate, internationally certified data centres here in Latvia, which is particularly important now given the heightened situation in Latvia’s and Europe’s cyberspace,” says Tet Chief Technology Officer Dmitrijs Ņikitins.
For customers, Tier III means a high level of operational continuity — critical engineering systems can be serviced or their components replaced without shutting down customer equipment. This is particularly important for national critical infrastructure, the financial sector, healthcare and other customers whose operations cannot tolerate service interruptions.

DC7 — part of Latvia’s nationally significant digital infrastructure
DC7 will be Tet’s most technologically advanced data centre in Latvia, complementing the critical infrastructure managed by the company. It will be closely integrated into nationally significant internet infrastructure — connected to Latvia’s largest fibre-optic network nodes and international internet exchange points in Europe, enabling public-sector and business customers to store data in Latvia and, where necessary, establish backup infrastructure elsewhere in Europe.
By combining Tet’s expertise in critical infrastructure, internet and data-centre network management, DC7 will strengthen the digital security and resilience of Latvia and the wider region.
The data centre will be available to customers on a continuous 24/7 basis. Its infrastructure includes three levels of physical security and an N+1 redundancy principle, ensuring a high level of operational continuity and reliability. In cooperation with Salaspils Siltums, the heat generated during the operation of the data centre will be used in Salaspils’ district heating system.
Investment in the first phase of the project exceeds EUR 10 million, while total investment in the development of DC7 exceeds EUR 30 million, making it one of Tet’s most significant investments in the development of Latvia’s digital infrastructure.
