Latvian NBA star Kristaps Porzingis has agreed to a new two-year, $40 million contract to remain with the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN insider Shams Charania, who reported the news on X. The agreement includes a player option for the second season, allowing Porzingis to remain with the franchise through at least the 2026-27 campaign if the option is exercised.

Porzingis joined the Warriors ahead of the 2026 NBA trade deadline after being acquired from the Atlanta Hawks. Despite appearing in only 15 games following the move, the 7-foot-2 Latvian center averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, providing Golden State with a versatile frontcourt presence thanks to his ability to stretch the floor and protect the rim.

The 30-year-old has battled health issues over the past two seasons but remains one of the NBA’s most unique big men when available. An NBA champion with the Boston Celtics in 2024, Porzingis owns career averages of 19.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks across 10 NBA seasons.

By securing Porzingis on a relatively team-friendly deal, the Warriors retain a key piece of their frontcourt while continuing to shape their roster for another championship push. The signing comes as Golden State is expected to remain active during the NBA offseason in search of additional reinforcements.
