Estonia: Investment scammers steal nearly EUR 13,000 from Saaremaa woman

A woman residing on Estonia’s large western Saaremaa island has fallen victim to an investment scam, suffering a financial setback of nearly 13,000 euros.

On Wednesday, the police began investigating the case involving the Saaremaa resident who had been making payments from her account towards purported investments since July, according to spokespeople for the West Prefecture. The woman discovered the alleged investment opportunity through an advertisement on Facebook.

The financial loss resulting from the scam is estimated to be nearly 13,000 euros.
