The Danish logistics company LS Intertank is opening up shop in Lithuania and plans to hire up to 70 drivers there. The company hopes to become a regional leader over the next three to five years.
The Lithuanian Centre of Registers registered LS Intertank LT in Kaunas last week. The company’s sales director, Vitoldas Kasperavicius, was appointed as its director.
Kasperavicius says that the Kaunas office will co-ordinate regional logistics and later will set up truck and trailer sites and maintenance bases.
“The decision on logistics centres will only be taken after a certain period of time,” he told BNS. “First we will have to assess the regional potential and the needs of our potential customers. Over the next three to five years we aim to become one of the largest logistics companies in the region.” Kasperavicius added that LS Intertank LT will initially hire 50-70 people, but as operations expand in future, the number of employees may also increase.
The LS Intertank Group employs around 300 people in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland and Slovakia.
Kasperavicius says that the group’s revenues rose 10% to EUR 75 million last year.
