The Times Higher Education World University Rankings have been released for 2025, and not a single institution of higher education in Latvia is ranked in the top 1,000.
The Rīga Technical University of the University of Latvia are between 1,001st and 1,200th place in the rankings. The University of Life Sciences and Technologies and the Rīga Stradiņš University are both below 1,501st. These higher education institutions were at about the same level last year, as well.
Latvia is ranked 64th in the world and 26th in Europe when it comes to higher education.
2,092 higher education institutions were ranked this year. Oxford remains the highest-ranked university, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard in second and third place.
