Employers value computer science, business and economics-related study programs – survey

Study programs related to computer science, entrepreneurship and economics are rated as the most useful by employers, according to the ranking of study programs and educational institutions by the career portal Prakse.lv.

Recommended by 153 employers, Computer Science emerged as the most highly rated study program at the University of Latvia.

The top-10 of the study program ranking also included Riga Technical University’s (RTU) computer science and construction study programs, Economics and Business program provided by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga), finance and business management programs offered by the BA School of Business and Finance (BASBF), the business management program provided by Turiba University, as well as Law, Real Estate Management and Accounting and Finance programs taught at study programs taught at the College of Law.

RTU has received the highest recognition from employers, with 937 employers recommending the university.

Other universities that have been rated highly by the employers are the University of Latvia, Turiba, Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies, as well as the BASBF.

As for Latvia’s vocational education institutions, the highest rated schools are Riga State Technical College, Riga Technical School of Tourism and Creative Industry, Riga Trade Vocational Secondary School, Bulduri Horticultural Secondary School, and Ogre Technical School.

Among colleges, the entrepreneurs have noted Riga Technical College, the College of Law, Riga Building College, Albert College and the Latvian Culture College.

Prakse.lv surveyed 2,706 employees to draw up the rating of study programs and educational institutions.
