Warsaw was included in the prestigious ranking ‘European Cities Of The Future: 10 Places To Visit In 2026’ published by the Forbes magazine. The Polish capital was recognised as one of ten European cities that offer visitors much more than a classic city break by combining modernity, high-quality urban space and a rich cultural offer.
International distinction for Warsaw
The ‘s publication referred to an analysis where 58 European cities were evaluated in such categories as atmosphere, pedestrian accessibility, cultural and catering offer, safety and comfort of sightseeing. On this basis, ten cities, including Warsaw, were selected as particularly inspiring to visit in 2026.
The Forbes highlights that, in comparison to other cities included in the ranking, such as Vienna, Madrid, Monaco, Geneva, Porto, Málaga, Valletta or Edinburgh, Warsaw stands out due to its comprehensive approach to development and a combination of modern infrastructure, large green areas, affordability and high-quality cultural and municipal offer.
Growing satisfaction among visitors
The Forbes’s distinction is confirmed by the results of the ‘’ commissioned by the Capital City of Warsaw. The cultural offer received the highest rating, with as many as 97% of positive reviews. Catering base, shopping offer and public transport are also rated as very good. At the same time, as many as 75% of tourists declare their willingness to return to Warsaw, and 71% would encourage others to visit the capital of Poland.
Modern and green city
As the Forbes notes, Warsaw has consistently implemented its urban development strategy for years. Green spaces account for almost half of the city’s area, and public transport is modern, efficient and environmentally friendly. The magazine also draws our attention to Varso Tower – the tallest building in the European Union, designed by Foster + Partners. The opening of the viewing terrace in 2025 has become a new tourist attraction offering a panorama of the city from a unique perspective and highlighting the innovative character of Warsaw.
Diverse districts and high-quality urban space
Warsaw attracts visitors with its diverse districts and successful revitalisation of urban spaces, such as the Vistula boulevards, Powiśle and Praga, where former industrial areas serve cultural and social functions today. At the same time, the city remains safe, pedestrian-friendly and cost-competitive compared to other European capitals. The average expenditure of foreign tourists is PLN 1,838 per person, and 60% of them choose four- and five-star hotels, which confirms the growing interest in high-quality tourist offers.
