Regional public transport fares in Latvia will increase on January 15, 2026, the Public Transport Council decided on Thursday.
Train fares will rise on average by 6.6 percent, while bus fares will increase by about 7.5 percent.
For example, the price of a train ticket on the Riga–Imanta route will remain unchanged at EUR 1.50, while the price of a train ticket on the Riga–Sigulda route will rise from EUR 2.50 to EUR 2.80. Bus and train ticket prices from Riga to Dubulti will increase from EUR 2.00 to EUR 2.30.
The price of a Riga–Daugavpils train ticket will go up by EUR 1.20, from EUR 8.70 to EUR 9.90. A bus ticket from Riga to Liepaja will cost EUR 10.60, an increase of EUR 0.20, while a train ticket from Riga to Liepaja will also rise by EUR 0.20 to EUR 9.10.
The new fares will take effect on January 15, 2026.
