Vilnius Airport temporarily halted operations Thursday evening due to a reported threat from weather balloons launched from neighbouring Belarus, officials said.
According to Lithuanian Airports, air traffic was suspended shortly after 20:00 local time, with airspace restrictions in place until 23:10.
The measures were later extended until 01:05, but at 22:45 the airport announced flights were resumed.
Over the last week, operations at Vilnius Airport were halted four times for the same reason, while Kaunas Airport was closed once.
Lithuanian leaders have argued that the incursions of such balloons, used by smugglers to transport tobacco products, are coordinated by the Belarusian authorities and are a form of hybrid attack.
