TT-Line, a German ferry company that has been operating in Lithuania’s Klaipeda for the past six years, launched a direct new ferry line between Klaipeda and Travemunde in September. Ferries to this German port leave Klaipeda on Friday night and return on Saturday night, the Vakaru Ekspresas news website reports.
Kristina Achenbache, a sales and marketing specialist at the Klaipeda-based TT-Line Lithuania, told the website that before that Travemunde could only be reached by ferry indirectly via Sweden.
“We have six ferries departing from Klaipeda: three to Trelleborg (in Sweden – BNS), three to Karlshamn (in Sweden – BNS) and now we have added one more direct ferry to Travemunde,” she said.
Last summer, TT-Line opened a new Klaipeda-Karlshamn ferry service.
