From October 1 to 4, the 17th international contemporary art fair “ArtVilnius’26” will take place in Vilnius, bringing together galleries and artists from more than 20 countries, including several Latvian galleries and artists, according to the Vilnius Tourism and Business Development Agency, “Go Vilnius”.

This year, the ISSP Gallery and the artist duo “MareunRol’s”, who are also representing Latvia at the Venice Biennale this year, will return to the fair’s program. The art gallery “Bazar’t” and the Agija Sūna Art Gallery are continuing their participation, while the gallery “TUR”, featuring artist Andris Kaļiņins, will participate in the fair for the first time.

“The Latvian and Lithuanian art circles are surprisingly close and at the same time strangely distant. We share a lot of common history, and many artists know each other personally, but we still don’t cross the border as often as we probably should. ‘ArtVilnius’ has become one of the places where these Latvian-Lithuanian connections form naturally,” says Iveta Gabaliņa, director and co-founder of the ISSP Gallery.

“ArtVilnius” is among the largest contemporary art fairs in the Baltic region. The platform connects the Central, Eastern, and Northern European art communities, including Latvian artists and galleries. In previous years, it has attracted over 23,000 visitors.
