About 15 more Latvian nationals express interest in leaving Israel – ambassador

During last week, the Latvian Embassy in Israel received inquiries from around 15 more Latvian nationals about the possibility of leaving the country, Latvian Ambassador to Israel Aivars Groza said in an interview with the Latvian public television on Monday.

According to him, Latvian nationals have approached the embassy without any panic, asking when the next opportunities to fly to Latvia might arise.

On October 16, airBaltic, at the request of the Foreign Ministry, operated a special evacuation flight from Israel, taking some 150 people to Latvia.

Groza admitted that the situation could change as the military clashes between Israel and Arab terrorist organizations escalate.

The ambassador noted that there were still opportunities to leave Israel on commercial flights, as Israeli airlines continue to operate.
