Datagroup Operations Lithuania, a newly established business of German IT company Datagroup in Lithuania, will provide IT services to the German company.
According to Melanie Held, marketing consultant at Datagroup Operations, the company wants to set up an office in Kaunas and employ about 30 people in the first six months in Lithuania.
“The company will support our German teams. Some functions, especially for various future technologies, will be supplied exclusively from Lithuania,” Held told BNS in a comment.
The focus would be on artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and IT project management, she said.
Held said that the group had chosen Lithuania because of its experience in cooperating with the country’s IT specialists, and it also appreciated the Lithuanian work ethic, which was no different from the Germans.
“We know that Lithuania is an IT-centered country. The pool of IT talent it produces is growing every year,” she said.
BNS reported previously that the company in Kaunas was established on June 21 and is headed by Frank Fabian, a German national.
According to Held, the company plans to launch the service on August 1, 2024.
According to Datagroup’s report, the company generated revenues of 497.8 million euros in its 2022-2023 business year (494 million euros in 2021-2022) and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 80.2 million euros (76.5 million euros).
Datagroup employs around 3,500 people.
