The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) has entered the Baltic Brand Ranking’s Top 50 most human brands in Latvia for the first time, placing 37th overall and 13th among public sector organisations and companies. The ranking asks residents to assess whether brands are socially responsible and contribute to positive change in society. LIAA’s inclusion reflects public trust in the agency’s work and recognition of its contribution to business development, export promotion and investment attraction in Latvia.

This year’s study assessed 368 brands across 40 categories, surveying 1,004 economically active Latvian residents aged 15–74. Alongside businesses, the ranking of the most human brands also includes public sector organisations and media outlets.

“The moments that give me the greatest satisfaction are when an entrepreneur returns from their first trade mission with their first overseas client, or when a technology developed in Latvia attracts the interest of a world-class company. This also changes the entrepreneur’s own belief in how much they can achieve. We want more Latvian businesses to experience this kind of success and grow internationally — so they can expand production here, create greater added value and provide well-paid jobs. It starts with our colleagues’ commitment and willingness to get involved, even when an entrepreneur is still finding their way. That is why I am truly delighted by this recognition. Thank you to our team and to the entrepreneurs who place their trust in us,” says LIAA Director Ieva Jāgere.

LIAA helps businesses prepare for exporting, find partners and reach potential customers at international exhibitions and trade missions. Its network of overseas representatives provides local market knowledge and helps establish business contacts. Turning these opportunities into deals requires close cooperation with entrepreneurs and an understanding of their businesses’ needs.

“Recently, we organised a seminar and a meeting with SAF Tehnika’s partners and customers in France. We involved LIAA’s representative in Paris in the preparations, and the event took place at the Latvian Embassy. The meeting went extremely well — LIAA’s representative helped with organisational matters, while more partners and customers attended than we would have expected had we organised the event ourselves at a hotel. Latvia’s positive image also played an important role,” says Jānis Bergs, Co-President of the Latvian American Chamber of Commerce (LACC).
