Latvian FoodTech startup L-Blend will present its patented technology for producing non-alcoholic dietary supplement ingredients derived from wine and dietary fibre at TechChill 2026.
The developed technology enables the preservation of valuable bioactive compounds found in wine while completely eliminating alcohol content. The product is enriched with dietary fibre, which helps reduce post-meal glucose spikes and supports gut health. The ingredient is available in multiple formats, including ready-to-mix drinks, as well as concentrate and powder forms, while retaining the characteristic taste profile of wine.
The product will be launched on the Latvian market under the brand Rosso.
“Rosso offers a new approach to wellbeing while preserving the character of red wine. It combines the aesthetics of wine culture with a modern perspective on health — maintaining depth of flavour, structure, and the beneficial compounds derived from grapes, without alcohol,” says Tatjana Iovko, certified sommelier and graduate of Weinakademie Österreich.
L-Blend operates in the B2B segment, providing innovative ingredients for manufacturers of functional beverages and dietary supplements, as well as collaborating with wineries to create higher value-added products.
The company was founded in 2023 within the Commercialization Reactor programme in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Ljubljana. It is a member of the LIAA Kuldīga Business Incubator and a finalist of the international exhibition Vitafoods 2025.
