Wizz Air resumes flights from Vilnius to Tel Aviv

Hungarian airline Wizz Air is on Tuesday resuming flights from Vilnius to Tel Aviv.

“Wizz Air is resuming flights,” the airline’s communications agency told BNS.

The airline suspended its flights to and from Israel and Jordan from Saturday to Monday inclusive. During this period, one flight was scheduled and then cancelled on Saturday.

Some other international airlines have also cancelled flights to Israel and Lebanon.

Due to the possible escalation in the region and the cancellation of flights to Israel, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry issued a recommendation last week for citizens to assess the need to travel to Israel, and also urged people who are there to leave.

Hezbollah, the Palestinian militant group’s Lebanese ally, has been exchanging fire with Israeli forces on an almost daily basis since October l7, 2022, when Hamas attacked southern Israel and provoked the war in the Gaza Strip.
