On Sunday evening, two people died and seven people were injured in a road accident in Marupe municipality, LETA learned from the State Police.
The police informed at at around 5 p.m. on Sunday the police received information about a crash between a Mercedes-Benz car and a VDL passenger bus on A10 road in Salas rural territory of Marupe municipality.
The car’s driver and passenger died in the accident, while 17 bus passengers were injured, including the bus driver.
The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) reported that the two fatalities had to be released using hydraulic tools from the car.
Bus passengers were assisted by medics from the Emergency Medical Service (NMPD). NMPD said that a total of 17 injured, including 3 children, were taken to hospital. The children had mild injuries, while adults had mostly suffered moderate injuries, and two had severe injuries.
A total of 13 medical crews were working at the scene.
