Rimi Lithuania H1 revenue up 5.4 pct to EUR 230 mln

Rimi Lietuva, one of Lithuania’s biggest supermarket chains, posted a 5.4 percent annual increase in revenue to 230.3 million euros, excluding VAT, for the first half of this year.

In the second quarter, year-on-year, its revenue rose 3.6 percent to 117.9 million euros.

The Rimi Baltic group, which owns Rimi Lithuania, saw its first-half revenue grow 4.4 percent to 914 million euros, according to the latest report of its owner, Sweden’s ICA Gruppen.

Rimi Baltic’s revenue in Latvia grew by 2.5 percent to 445.3 million euros and went up 4.5 percent to 238 million euros in Estonia.

At the end of June, Rimi Baltic operated 308 stores, including 88 in Lithuania, 138 in Latvia and 82 in Estonia. In January-June, one store was closed and one store was opened in Lithuania, two stores were opened in Estonia and there were no changes in Latvia.

In 2023, Rimi Lietuva incurred a net loss of 4 million euros, 4.9 times more than in 2022, while its revenue rose 6.4 percent to 453.4 million euros.
