In the opening match of the NBA Finals on Thursday, Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis scored 20 points, helping his Boston Celtics defeat the Dallas Mavericks 107:89.
With the win, the Celtics have taken a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The Latvian also pulled down six rebounds and blocked three shots.
Jaylen Brown was the top scorer for the Celtics with 22 points and six rebounds, while Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks with 30 points and 10 rebounds.
The second match of the series will be played on June 9 in Boston. Games three and four will be played in Dallas on June 12 and 14.
As reported, the Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 4-1 in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 in the second round and the Indiana Pacers 4-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 4-2 in the opening round, the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-2 in the second round, and the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals.
