Clients of the mobile operator and technology company Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT) ranked fifth worldwide in mobile data consumption per SIM card in 2024, according to a study by the data analytics company Tefficient.

In Europe, LMT clients ranked second last year.

According to Tefficient’s analysis, the average monthly data consumption per LMT SIM card in 2024 was 54.2 gigabytes (GB). Meanwhile, data from Latvia’s regulator, the Public Utilities Commission (SPRK), show that the national average mobile data consumption reached 57 GB per month per connection.

LMT President Juris Binde noted that maintaining a top position in the global rankings reflects the digitally active lifestyles of the company’s clients, who work, study, and entertain themselves online.

According to preliminary data, LMT Group’s turnover in 2024 amounted to EUR 309.6 million, an increase of 0.5 percent compared with 2023.
