DATAGROUP, a German IT service company, has recently established a branch in Lithuania’s second-largest city of Kaunas, DATAGROUP Operations Lithuania.
Initially, it plans to hire up to 30 people and later bring it up to 50, Investuok Lietuvoje (Invest Lithuania), Lithuania’s foreign investment promotion agency, said on Wednesday.
“Our plan is to set up an office in Kaunas within the first six months in Lithuania, and then proceed to hire up to 30 specialists by the end of the year. Once the new team is up and running, we will concentrate primarily on AI, cyber security, as well as IT architecture and infrastructure, with a particular focus on networks, Linux, and project management,” Frank Fabian, the company’s managing director, was quoted as saying in the statement.
The Kaunas office will play a crucial role in DATAGROUP’s operations, helping to remotely address staffing gaps in the German teams. While some functions will be delivered solely from Lithuania, some engineers based in Kaunas will become team members of their German colleagues.
DATAGROUP’s revenue grew by 0.8 percent to 497.8 million euros in the 2022-2023 financial year, and its EBITDA rose 4.8 percent to 80.2 million euros.
