Responding to strong interest from businesses, AJ Power Recycling in cooperation with 3R Ltd. has extended the environmental campaign “Give Tires a Second Life” until 14 August. During the campaign, legal entities can dispose of used passenger vehicle tires free of charge at the 3R waste management facility at 4 Atlasa Street, Riga. To participate, companies must complete an online application form and reserve a delivery time in advance at www.3r.lv/akcija.

During the first week of the campaign alone, 103.6 tonnes of used tires were collected for responsible recycling. Due to the high level of participation from both businesses and private individuals, the organizers have decided to extend the campaign, allowing even more companies to take advantage of the free collection service.

Only passenger vehicle tires are accepted during the campaign. Each company may deliver up to 500 tires. Tires from trucks, agricultural machinery and industrial equipment are not accepted free of charge. Tires must be clean, without rims, and free of leaves, mud, soil or other waste. Before delivering tires, companies are encouraged to review the campaign terms and conditions, which will be sent to the email address provided in the registration form once the application has been approved.

Businesses can deliver used tires free of charge at the 3R waste management facility, 4 Atlasa Street, Riga, until 14 August, provided they register in advance at www.3r.lv/akcija. Advance registration is mandatory to ensure an orderly collection process. Tires will only be accepted during the reserved time slot, and deliveries without prior registration and electronic confirmation will not be accepted.

The campaign is also open to private individuals. Each passenger vehicle may deliver up to four passenger vehicle tires without rims free of charge. Tires from trucks, agricultural machinery and industrial equipment will not be accepted. Private individuals may bring used tires on a first-come, first-served basis every working day until 14 August, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the 3R waste management facility, 4 Atlasa Street, Riga.

Outside the campaign period, passenger vehicle tires can be disposed of for a fee at sorted waste collection sites and other designated tire collection points. These sites also accept lead-acid and other types of batteries, oil filters and lubricating oils. A list of collection sites is available at https://ajpower.lv/laukumi.
