Gints Zilbalodis’ animated feature “Flow” has been awarded the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film, marking the first time a Latvian film has received this prestigious honor.

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony wrapped up in Los Angeles on January 5 (early January 6 in Latvian time), with “Flow” earning one of the most coveted accolades in the American film industry.

While accepting the award, director Gints Zilbalodis expressed his gratitude, saying:

“This film was created by a small, young, but passionate team in a place without a large film industry. For a Latvian film to be recognized on this stage is an incredible accomplishment for us.”
