Court fees will increase by 43 percent on the average, according to amendments to the Cabinet regulation on services provided by courts, the amount of court fees and the procedure for payment of the fees that the government supported today.
Half of the current fees for court services have not been revised since the regulation entered into force. Spending on remuneration of judges and court staff has increased by 54.5 percent on the average in 2023 as compared to 2014, and by 39 percent compared to 2017, the Justice Ministry commented.
Courts’ electricity costs have also increased significantly, by 84 percent in 2022 as compared to 2014 and by 32 percent compared to 2017. Costs of other goods and services have also increased.
In view of the above, the current fees set out in the Cabinet regulation do not cover the expenses of court services. Furthermore, the demand for court services has also changed.
