The Latvian flag carrier airBaltic is increasing its flight frequencies from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius to Amsterdam, the company told LETA.
As of March 30, airBaltic will offer three flights to Amsterdam every day from Riga, two from Tallinn and two from Vilnius.
airBaltic president and CEO Martin Gauss says that Amsterdam is one of the most popular routes in the airline’s route network, so after assessing market trends and passenger demand, the airline decided it was necessary to increase the frequency of flights to the destination from the Baltic region.
As has been reported in the past, airBaltic carried 5.2 million passengers in 2024, which was an increase of 13% against a year before, while the number of flights rose 7% year-on-year to 47,000.
airBaltic posted a net loss of EUR 118 million in 2024, as against a profit made in 2023, while the company’s revenues amounted to EUR 748 million, which was a 12% year-on-year increase from the previous year.
The Latvian state owns 97.97% of airBaltic shares, while the Danish businessman Lars Thuesen’s Aircraft Leasing 1 owns the remaining 2.03%.
