Starting from 2024 April passengers from Vilnius will have a direct regular flight to Athens with the well awarded Greek airline AEGEAN. Flights will be operated twice a week with AIRBUS A320.
Tomas Zitikis, Head of aviation services of Lithuanian Airports, emphasizes that the new flight direction will open up huge opportunities for those traveling to Greece and its’ islands.
“Departing from Athens Airport offers exceptional convenience for accessing the Greek islands and neighboring countries. It’s evident that these vacation spots in the region are highly favored by Lithuanian travelers, and we’re delighted to meet this demand” says T.Zitikis.
The direct service to the Greek capital will operate 2 times a week starting from April 2024 until the end of October.
Mr. Ioannis Rasoglou, AEGEAN Network Planning and Airline Partnerships Director:
“We’re very happy for the commencement of our new direct flights between Athens International Airport and Vilnius Airport in summer 2024 and by thus connecting Vilnius and Lithuania with the Greek capital of Athens, the domestic mainland and popular island destinations in Greece. We are excited to connect Lithuania and Greece with this new scheduled service, further expand our network with connections to all European capitals and be able to offer a unique travel experience to all those traveling with us”.
AEGEAN, which has not previously operated regular flights in Lithuania, will become the 10th legacy airline at Vilnius Airport.
