New flights to be offered in Lithuania this winter

Flights from Lithuania will be available to various new destinations this winter.

Late in October, the Hungarian airline Wizz Air will launch flights between Vilnius and Düsseldorf in Germany.  Ireland’s Ryanair will fly from Kaunas to Belfast in Northern Ireland.  This was reported on Thursday by Lithuanian Airports (LTOU), which operates the country’s airports.

Meanwhile, Latvia’s airBaltic airline airBaltic is launching flights from Vilnius to Oslo, Norway, which is a route that is currently being handled by Ryanair and Norwegian Air.

There will be three weekly flights from Vilnius to Tenerife and relaunched flights to Dubai this winter.  Brussels Airlines has announced that the number of weekly flights between Vilnius and Brussels will be increased to five.

There will be 70 destinations from Lithuania this winter – 45 from Vilnius, 19 from Kaunas and six from Palanga.

Twelve airlines will operate scheduled flights to and from Lithuania this winter.  Nine of these are traditional, while the other three are low-cost airlines.
