Car-sharing service Bolt Drive has partnered with Estonian urban environment feedback app Towning to offer one more opportunity for feedback in a bid to make cities a better place to live by providing a new fast and efficient communication channel between the company and residents.
Bolt and Towning have developed a system that allows users to conveniently flag incorrectly parked Bolt Drive vehicles or suggest new parking spaces. Once a vehicle has been flagged, an automatic alert is sent to the Bolt team, who can respond quickly to the situation.
Henriko Aer, head of Bolt Drive Estonia, said that working with Towning allows them to get valuable feedback and develop the service in a way that benefits all customers and residents.
The Towning app is already being used by more than 2,000 residents of Tallinn to provide constructive feedback with images to the city. The app identifies the responsible city authority based on location and topic, forwards the content provided by cresidents, and notifies users when the city has seen their feedback. The app can be used to share both positive and negative feedback, and it works on both Android and iPhone devices.
“I built the app out of personal necessity because I felt that the city’s current feedback channels were not user-friendly enough and it was nowhere possible to see what kind of urban space others around me desired. It is gratifying to see that the app resonates with thousands of others besides me. The new city administration has also shown a desire for closer collaboration — for example, we recently launched a campaign with the environmental and public utilities department where citizens can suggest new locations for tree planting,” said Vahur Hansen, the founder of Towning.
The fleet of Bolt Drive in Estonia comprises a total of 1,000 rental vehicles, including passenger cars of various sizes, electric cars and vans. In Estonia, Bolt Drive is available in Tallinn and Tartu.
