Russian citizen held for flying drone near restricted sites in Daugavpils

A Russian citizen was detained in Latvia’s southeastern city of Daugavpils on Thursday for flying a drone near restricted sites, LETA was told at the State Police.

Law enforcement authorities responded to information that somebody was flying a drone near restricted sites in Daugavpils. When they arrived at the site, they found a 41-years-old Russian man piloting the unmanned aerial vehicle.

The incident was reported to the State Security Service and the Military Intelligence Service.
