GetJet Airlines, a Lithuanian wet-lease and charter services provider indirectly majority owned by Aleksandr Celiadin, has been in a court dispute with the government’s commission vetting strategic companies’ deals over the recommendations it issued when clearing the lease of an office at Vilnius Airport.
GetJet Airlines has already signed the lease agreement with Lietuvos Oro Uostai (Lithuanian Airports, LTOU), but is contesting the commission’s recommendations, which the company says are based on outdated data and damage its reputation.
GetJet Airlines says it severed all ties with Russian and Belarusian aircraft leasing firms back in 2022.
The government’s press office confirmed to BNS that the commission in late 2023 received GetJet Airlines’ request for clearing the lease of non-residential premises at Vilnius Airport.
The company was then issued recommendations on risk management, but is challenging them in court.
GetJet Airlines CEO Ruta Kulvinskaite told BNS that the commission’s findings were favorable as the company was deemed suitable to implement a development project related to leasing auxiliary premises at Vilnius Airport, adding that it has already signed the agreement with LTOU.
Kulvinskaite said the dispute with the commission centers around the use of outdated information and the resulting recommendations, adding that the company turned to court seeking that the panel’s findings be amended.
“The decision was based on outdated data that does not correspond to reality,” the CEO said. “When the geopolitical situation changed in 2022, our group of companies immediately severed all ties with aircraft leasing companies unable to operate in Europe.”
“Unfortunately, the commission’s decision is still based on old data that does not reflect the current situation and damages our company’s reputation,” she added.
LTOU confirmed to BNS that last December it leased an office to GetJet Airlines in a building on the airport’s grounds for one year, with an option to extend. The office is used for flight crew meetings and is located in a free-access area.
Information from the Center of Registers shows that GetJet Airlines is owned via Cyprus-registered GJT Holdings Limited by Lithuanian citizen Aleksandr Celiadin (56.4 percent) and UK-based Italian citizen Yoaram Allalouf (37.6 percent).
Dmitrij Celiadin, who is related to Aleksandr Celiadin, is the ultimate beneficiary of Aviatic MRO (formerly Termicom), an aircraft maintenance and repair company operating at Siauliai Airport, near Zokniai, where NATO fighter jets are also based. He controls the company through Estonia’s Completec.
According to media reports, Completec’s main business is the import and sale of Danish optical sensors in Russia, Belarus and the Baltic states. The group is also engaged in commercial aviation operations, such as aircraft maintenance, aircraft rental, flights and aviation personnel training.
