On 27 May, the Supervision Committee of Latvijas Banka decided to issue a licence to Nexdesk SIA to operate as a payment institution.
The licence enables the company to provide money remittance services.
In December 2025, Latvijas Banka issued a licence to Nexdesk SIA for the provision of crypto-asset services. The licence currently issued to operate as a payment institution enables the company to fully provide custody of crypto-assets and transfer services for crypto-assets.
Latvijas Banka issues authorisations to crypto-service providers in accordance with the requirements established in the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). In certain cases, crypto-asset service providers offering transfer services for crypto-assets involving e-money tokens may also need to obtain a payment institution licence pursuant to the requirements stipulated in the Law on Payment Services and Electronic Money.
