In the second quarter of this year, the majority of the country’s population aged 15-74 earned their income from wages and salaries, according to data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau.
Wages and salaries were the main source of income for 57 percent of people in this age group, or 779,700 individuals.
At the same time, 301,900 people, or 22.1 percent of the population aged 15–74, received income from various types of pensions in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, 279,800 people – 20.4 percent of this age group – received financial or other forms of support from relatives, friends or family members.
