5G Techritory Forum to Return for Last Time Before Identity Change

The 5G Techritory forum will be held on October 30-31 this year for the final time in its current format.  One of Europe’s leading events in this area will be held for the seventh time, bringing together leading figures from the policy-related, industrial, academic and business aspects of the telecommunications industry.

The forum is expected to feature more than 90 speakers and more than 500 attendees in Riga, Latvia, plus another 1,500 guests online.  This marks a shit away from the post-Covid online/hybrid conference format, instead placing an emphasis on in-person presence.  As always, the event will be free of charge, but advance registration is required.

This year’s forum topic will be “Technology Shaping Tomorrow’s Territory.”  The focus will be on extracting real value and tangible results from the programme.  Co-created events at the forum will bring together leading practitioners to dive into workshops, ideation and creativity throughout the forum.  More than ten events are planned, including:

  • The Horizon Europe Digital Technologies brokerage event – an information, pitch and matchmaking session to match scientists and researchers with entrepreneurs in the search for future opportunities for collaboration
  • The Quantum Technology Landscape co-creation event – an exploration of national quantum initiatives and regional synergy, reviewing ways in which regional networks can accelerate the pace of quantum advancements
  • The importance of GNSS Security & Resilience – a look at the impact of jamming and spoofing on military and civilian assets, migration strategies for integrators, and the importance of GNSS simulation for securing military applications, including hypersonic weapons systems
  • From 5G to 6G: Leveraging key trends and 5G evolution to shape 6G for vertical sectors – first 6G use cases, trends in vertical sectors, the evolution from 5G to 6G, etc.

The event will also offer immersive XR experiences, an after-hours networking event, and numerous panels and discussions focusing on the most relevant topics of the day – AI, dual-use technologies, quantum technologies, digital twins, 6G and more.

“This will be the seventh year for 5G Techritory, and we believe that we have achieved our goal – to bring together the brightest minds of the industry and to create a more interconnected world via the 5th generation of mobile technologies.  The world has changed, and 5G is no longer an unknown frontier.  We’re thrilled at what has been accomplished, and we look toward the future with much excitement.” – Neils Kalniņš, director, 5G Techritory.

5G Techritory is organised by the Latvian Electronic Communications Office with support from the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) and the European Regional Development Fund.  Other partners include the International Telecommunications Union, the Latvian Ministry for Smart Administration and Regional Development, LMT, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Nordic Council, and the Digital Accelerator of Latvia.
