Former Prime Minister and former Minister of the Interior Maris Kucinskis (United List) believes that the alleged cooperation of European Parliament Member Tatjana Zdanoka (Latvian Russian Union) with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) will not go without consequences.
Kucinskis said in an interview with Latvian Television this morning that the State Security Service’s (VDD) investigation into Zdanoka’s possible cooperation with Russian special services was not a surprise.
“In a figurative sense, but the folder is very large and all these cases have been recorded,” the former interior minister said.
“This will not go without consequences,” Kucinskis continued, expressing his feeling.
As reported, according to an investigation by the Russian independent investigative journalism organisation The Insider, in cooperation with Estonian, Latvian and Swedish journalists, Zdanoka has been in active correspondence with Russian citizens who may be officers of the Russian Federal Security Service. Among other things, she sent them reports on her activities. The investigation is based on Zdanoka’s hacked emails.
The European Parliament (EP) has opened an investigation into allegations that European Parliament Member from Latvia Tatjana Zdanoka had contacts with Russian intelligence services.
