The Website that is selling tickets to Latvia’s group stage in this year’s European Men’s Basketball Championships (EuroBasket 2025) has announced that tickets to Latvia’s games against Turkey, Serbia and Estonia have already been sold out.
There are a few tickets still left for Latvia’s match against the Czech Republic, as well as a greater number for the game against Portugal.
Tickets to single matches went on sale yesterday at Eurobasket.bezrindas.lv.
EuroBasket marketing manager Kalvis Kovalevs told the LETA News Agency that there were 27,000 available tickets for Latvia’s matches on Thursday, and only between 2,000 and 3,000 of them are still not purchased.
The Latvian Basketball Association confirmed that there are still tickets for the aforementioned games against Czechia and Portugal, as well as day tickets for several sessions during the knockout stage.
“The high demand has once again confirmed that Latvians are hugely interested in the European championships and are desirous of supporting our national team in person,” Kovalevs says.
The marketing manager adds that the high level of demands was no surprise and that he and his colleagues in other countries took this into account when planning ticket sales.
“When there are such high-demand events, there is always an inevitable side effect in practice,” Kovalevs admits. “There can be a bottleneck on the booking Website.” He adds that misunderstandings and communications failures can also occur.
Kovalevs also confirmed that tickets for other group games and knockout tournament matches in Riga will be available once FIFA has confirmed the schedule for such events.
“This is expected to happen by May 6, but we are working to make it happen sooner,” he promised.
