The Latvian-Israeli Business Forum in Riga highlights opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation

The Latvian-Israeli Business Forum, held on Tuesday in Riga, highlighted the potential for bilateral economic cooperation, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) informed LETA.

The forum was organized by LIAA and the Ministry of Economics in collaboration with leading business and innovation organizations from both countries. It took place in connection with the official visit of the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, to Latvia.

In his address, President Herzog emphasized the strong potential for cooperation between Israel and Latvia in business, science, technology, and tourism.

The forum aimed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of innovation, manufacturing, research, and high-tech.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Israel Export Institute and the Latvian Exporters Association The Red Jackets, as well as between the Israel Manufacturers Association and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

LIAA Director Ieva Jagere emphasized that Latvia sees broad opportunities for economic collaboration with Israel, particularly in innovation and the defense sector.

Agreements were reached on developing new forms of cooperation, including joint research projects, start-ups, and partnerships in the innovation industry. The two countries also agreed to expand collaboration in areas such as defense technologies, hydrogen, semiconductor development, and precision medicine.
