A new Hilton hotel and spa worth EUR 65 million will be built on the shores of the Baltic Sea in the Giruliai area near Lithuania’s western town of Klaipeda, the project developer has announced. The hotel is to be ready by 2029.

The real estate company in question is Releven, and it says that work on the luxury complex is to begin by the end of this year. The complex is to have 3,000 m2 of floorspace and 168 rooms.

The Hilton Hotels & Resorts facility will have Northern Europe’s largest thermal water spa, making use of natural mineral waters extracted from a depth of around one kilometre, the company added.

“There is no thermal water centre of this scale in the northern reaches of Europe, and our goal is to promote the Lithuanian coastline as a new attraction on the global tourism map,” said Releven development head Viktoras Zubrecovas, in a statement.

The future hotel will be managed by Apex Alliance Hotel Management.

Hilton already has three hotels in Vilnius and Palanga, but none of these operates under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.
