Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis invited Lockheed Martin to invest in Lithuania as he met with the US military industry giant’s top executives in Davos on Thursday.
“We offer the best conditions for defense industry investments in Lithuania and we have the necessary experience,” the Foreign Ministry quoted Landsbergis as saying in a press release.
“Therefore, we hope that Lithuania’s defense investments will become the basis for military equipment maintenance and production in Lithuania,” he said.
The participants of the meeting discussed why it is important to invest in the region, where defense capabilities will be concentrated in the future, and how to ensure reliable defense chains. They agreed to continue cooperation.
According to the minister, geopolitical uncertainties in the world and the region encourage a greater focus on national and regional security.
