The Finnish social and healthcare provider Mehilainen has asked for permission from the Lithuanian Competition Council to acquire the InMedica Group, which is a Lithuanian network of medical facilities owned by the private equity fund INVL Baltic Sea Growth Fund.
The competition watchdog has said that it has received the request to procure 100% of InMedica and to take sole control over the company.
The two companies disclosed the deal in early January without reporting the sum of the transaction. This will make Mehilainen the leading provide of such services in the Baltic States.
The company already operates in Finland, Sweden, German and Estonia, providing services to 2.1 million clients per year and employing more than 37,000 people.
The InMedica Group, in turn, owns a network of 89 clinics and laboratories in Lithuania, with projected 2024 revenues of more than EUR 150 million, which was a 20% increase on EUR 125 million in 2023. The network employs more than 3,200 people.
