Viratec, a company of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences (VUAS), has signed a long-term agreement with the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) to support lunar missions, Rota Rulle, public relations specialist at VUAS, informed LETA.
Viratec Chief Technology Officer Marcis Donerblics believes that this is a crucial step and a milestone in VIRATEC and SSC partnership for bringing the VUAS 32 and 16 meter antennas in Latvia to the global lunar communications market, strengthening SSC Connect capabilities, creating synergies between radio astronomy and ground segment infrastructure as well as establishing Latvian space industry as a strong grounds segment service provider for EU and global space exploration missions.
According to Firmas.lv, Viratec turnover in 2022 was EUR 22,341, while its profit was EUR 5,018. Viratec is a capital company established in 2020 by VUAS with a share capital of EUR 2,800.
