Belarus opposition leader to visit Estonia

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the leader of the democratic forces of Belarus, will visit Estonia on November 18-19.

Tsikhanouskaya is due to visit Tartu and Tallinn and to meet with Estonia’s foreign minister, interior minister, minister of education and research, Parliament speaker, chairman of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, members of the Riigikogu group in support of Belarus, and the rector of the University of Tartu.

Ms Tsikhanouskaya is scheduled to appear as a guest lecturer in the white hall of the University of Tartu Museum at 3:00 PM on November 18. The Skytte Institute is the organiser of the event.  On November 19, at 2:30 PM, a new exhibition will be opened at Tammsaare Park in Tallinn.

Also on November 18 there will be a seminar at the Estonian National Archives in Tartu under the title “Is it dangerous to learn about history? The example of Belarus.”
