People in the Baltic States are planning this summer to mostly travel within their own countries or neighbouring countries. This has been made clear in a survey that was commissioned by the Latvian vehicle rental agency Booking Group Corporation, which represents the Website EconomyBookings.com. The results of the survey were reported by the LETA News Agency.

26% of surveyed Latvians plan to travel around Latvia, 33% of Estonians plan to travel around Estonia, and 40% of Lithuanians hope to explore Lithuania.

At the same time, 30% of Latvians, 24% of Lithuanians and 33% of Estonians do not plan to travel at all this summer.

Asked about other destinations, people in all three countries cited Italy, France, Croatia and other countries.

Booking Group Corporation statistics show that this year, as in years in the past, Baltic people choose to rent economy and compact cars, on average for a period of seven to eight days. In Milan, Rome and Barcelona, the average rental period is five to seven days, while in Corfu, Alicante and Heraklion it is eight to 14 days.

The survey was conducted by the Norstat market research company for EconomyBookings.com, with 1,005, 1,000 and 1,000 people aged 18-74 being surveyed online in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia respectively. The poll was conducted in June 2025.
