Latvian information technology group Datlex continues to expand its expertise in business intelligence and data analytics. SIA Digitex, a software development company within the group, is acquiring a 90% stake in SIA InfoStrategy. An existing co-owner of InfoStrategy will retain a 10% stake and continue working at the company.
The transaction marks the next step in the growth of the Datlex Group following the 2025 acquisition of Visma Consulting by Codex, another IT company within the group. Following the acquisition, Visma Consulting continued its operations under the name Digitex. The latest transaction will expand the group’s expertise in developing business intelligence solutions and increase its capacity to deliver larger-scale projects across the Baltic states.
“We do not want to grow simply in terms of numbers—each transaction must bring new expertise and opportunities into the group. InfoStrategy is a small but highly professional team with strong experience in business intelligence and data analytics. By combining its expertise with the technological capabilities of Digitex and Codex, we will be able to undertake larger and more complex projects,” said Uldis Semeiks, Member of the Management Board of Datlex.
With InfoStrategy joining the group, Datlex gains the team’s expertise, accumulated project experience and portfolio of business intelligence solutions. InfoStrategy will continue working with its existing clients and contracts as before. Since its establishment in 2016, the company has specialised in business management and analytics solutions, including management planning, budgeting, cost calculation modelling and data analytics, serving clients throughout the Baltic states.
“Nothing will change in our clients’ day-to-day cooperation with us—they will continue working with the same people they have known for years. What will change is the scale of our capabilities: joining a larger group will give us access to broader technological expertise and capacity that a team of eight could not provide on its own. We will retain our specialisation in business intelligence while gaining the ability to undertake significantly larger projects,” said Romāns Kairovs, Member of the Management Board of InfoStrategy.
Following the transaction, InfoStrategy will continue operating under its existing name and brand. No change to the company’s name or visual identity is currently planned.
Datlex Strengthens Its Group Model Across the Baltic States
The acquisition of InfoStrategy forms part of the Datlex Group’s broader development strategy. The group’s operations are structured around two principal business areas: IT infrastructure solutions and software development.
In the infrastructure segment, the group operates across the Baltic states and Scandinavia. In Latvia, this business area is represented by Datakom, which provides the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure solutions, as well as related consulting services. Other companies within the group complement this offering with IT consulting and infrastructure management services. The group’s companies have more than 30 years of experience in this field.
The group’s software development segment comprises Codex, Digitex and InfoStrategy. Codex and Digitex primarily develop customised business information systems for public- and private-sector clients, while InfoStrategy strengthens the group’s expertise in business intelligence, data analytics and data-driven solutions.
“We are developing as a unified group rather than as a collection of separate companies. Our complementary areas of expertise allow us to cooperate freely and make effective use of the knowledge and experience available across the entire group. It is precisely this close cooperation between our software development and infrastructure teams that enables us to offer clients throughout the Baltic states and Scandinavia broader and more technologically sophisticated solutions,” Uldis Semeiks explained.
The Datlex Group will continue assessing opportunities for growth and the acquisition of new expertise in the Baltic market, combining organic development with the integration of professional teams.
The transaction was financed in cooperation with Swedbank, using a guarantee provided by the European Investment Fund under the European Union’s InvestEU programme.
