Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna met with Donald Trump Jr. during his recent visit to Tallinn, with Ukraine, security and economic policy among the main topics discussed.

Tsahkna said he attended a dinner at the invitation of the U.S. side and described the meeting as an opportunity to exchange views with an influential figure close to the U.S. presidential administration.

According to the minister, contacts with people outside formal political structures can potentially prove useful for Estonia in the future.

Trump Jr.’s visit coincided with diplomatic efforts by U.S. representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff involving Moscow and Kyiv.

During his stay in Tallinn, Trump Jr. also attended events linked to the casino industry, which prompted questions about the setting in which such informal diplomatic contacts were taking place.
