The first-ever indie garden festival “La-Di-Da-Di” came to a close with a breathtaking performance by British band “caroline” at the Green Theatre in Mežaparks. Over two days, visitors enjoyed a carefully curated programme of international and local artists, gourmet food, and a relaxed evening atmosphere, creating a unique music experience unlike anything previously seen in Latvia.

Toms Grēviņš, curator of the La-Di-Da-Di music programme: “Over these two days in Mežaparks, surrounded by a wonderful atmosphere and amazing people, we experienced something truly special together. These garden festivities proved that there is also a place here for an event where, alongside outstanding music and exciting discoveries, the setting, the atmosphere, and the overall experience are just as important. The first edition of La-Di-Da-Di has now come to an end, but this is only the beginning of what we hope to build in the years ahead. This festival is the realization of a dream that three friends have nurtured for a long time, and we are genuinely delighted to share it with others.”

The second day of “La-Di-Da-Di” opened with a performance by rising Lithuanian singer-songwriter “Kabloonak”, who welcomed the early festival audience with captivating, dreamlike indie folk. The live music programme continued with experimental indie-pop act “Goldbug”, whose appearance in Latvia marked a special milestone as it was the band’s first-ever concert outside their native Ireland.

One of the evening’s most eagerly anticipated moments was the return of legendary Latvian band “Aparāts” to the stage after an extended break. Their set featured audience favourites including Galdnieks, Mīlestības doktors, Par meiteni, and other well-known songs, with both longtime fans and newcomers singing along. “Aparāts” made a confident comeback, delivering the same powerful punk-inspired energy and trademark humour that made the band so beloved more than a decade ago.

The festival concluded with a performance by one of Europe’s most acclaimed contemporary alternative music acts, the London-based octet “caroline”. From the very first notes, the audience fell completely silent, immersed in the band’s distinctive interplay of instruments and voices. Rather than simply performing songs, “caroline” created an unforgettable musical experience through the subtle interaction of its eight musicians and their remarkable emotional presence on stage. It was a performance that many “La-Di-Da-Di” festivalgoers will remember for years to come.
