19,799 people received an unemployment insurance benefit in the third quarter of this year, 24 percent more than during the same quarter last year and 0.2 percent more than in the second quarter of this year.
In Estonia as a whole, the average unemployment insurance benefit in the third quarter was 684 euros, increasing by 11.4 percent compared to the previous year and by 2.9 percent compared to the previous quarter, according to data from Statistics Estonia.
The average unemployment insurance benefit was highest in the third quarter at 782 euros in Harju County, followed by Hiiu County with an average of 701 euros and Rapla County with an average benefit of 671 euros.
The average benefit was lowest at 509 euros in East-Viru County, followed by Valga County with 567 euros and Polva County with 578 euros.
