SEB Banka in Latvia and Lithuania now offers online company account opening without the need to visit a branch, the bank informed LETA.
In Estonia, this solution has already been made available.
The option to open a company account online is available to existing SEB Banka private customers. According to the bank, the process takes no more than 20 minutes, and entrepreneurs do not need to schedule a separate visit to a branch.
To use this service, the company representative must be a SEB Banka customer with an active current account and an online banking agreement. The representative must also be a citizen or resident of the respective country (Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia), have sole representation rights for the company, and possess a qualified electronic signature (such as a qualified Smart-ID or eID).
For the company itself, two criteria must be met: both the company and its owners must be registered in the respective country, and the beneficial owners must be nationals of that country.
As of the end of March 2025, SEB Banka was the second-largest bank in Latvia by assets, according to the Bank of Latvia.
